HOT: Soy Toner To Replace millions of pounds of Oil Toner in Laser Printers

Print Recovery Concepts, Inc. offers an environmentally-friendly leap forward in clean energy culture, with green printing products for the home, schools, universities, government, and business. PRC is the first firm to sell laser printer cartridges made with soybean toner powder. The laser toner cartridges are supplied by Print Recovery Concepts under the SoyPrint™ brand. Their prices are competitive with leading brand names, which are currently made with oil-based toner. Even though soy ink has been readily available for a while, this is the first time a soy-based choice is being sold and shipped in laser cartridges.

SoyPrint soybean toner cartridge

Analysts report that producing one pound of oil-based toner needs roughly 2 liters of oil. Presently, U.S. personal users, businesses, institutions and government bodies devour more than 100 million cartridges each year. That’s 100 million pounds, equivalent to 50,000 tons of petroleum, to produce the current need for toner cartridges. Now everyone has a choice: Print black or print “green” with SoyPrint’s clean energy products.

Thorough benchmarking of the SoyPrint laser toner cartridges were conducted by PRC. Debe Overhaug, president of Print Recovery Concepts, Inc., claimed that the quality of soy print cartridges is comparable to leading legacy brand name oil-based cartridges. She also said that soy cartridges print the same number of pages as oil-based cartridges and soybean oil toner cartridges do no harm to the printer. “Buyers can now demand a quality product AND a green product. They can have it both ways,” stated Overhaug.

SoyPrint™ cartridges are fully warrantied and Made in the USA. The Soybean toner cartridges are delivered directly to customers from warehouses strategically located all across the United States.

SoyPrint

Print Sustainably Now!
When SoyPrint™ first announced their soy-based toner cartridges, PRC delivered a real-time choice to print in a sustainable, green, renewable, clean energy manner, available to all. Their Sustainable Printing Program considers the entire process of printing.
* They begin with high quality, compatible SoyPrint™ toner cartridges using powdered toner made from soybeans rather than oil.
* These soy cartridges all carry a label with a SoyPrint™ mark, making them easy to recognize.
* Their program promotes the use of recycled paper and proper recycling of used printers.
* People dramatically lower their printing impact on the planet’s ecosystem when using SoyPrint™ ink toner cartridges.

Tips for Sustainable Printing:
1) Use recycled, SoyPrint compatible cartridges.
2) Save 3 pounds of heavy plastic from being interred into landfills by choosing this bio-based toner!
3) Send empty cartridges back to be recycled into various new plastic products, by using SoyPrint’s UPS return labels.
4) Use recycled paper, available at any office supply and printing supply shop.
5) When replacing your printer, donate the old one to a local school district or an office products recycling company.
Following these tips helps reduce the pollution produced by electronic products! SoyPrint has the ability to refer you to the right recycling institutions.

Soy Toner Cartridge Label

PRC’s customers receive reports of the ongoing impact, which tracks Sustainable Printing. Reports include:
* Pounds of SoyPrint toner used
* Pounds of heavy plastic recycled
* Number of reams of recycled paper consumed.

About Print Recovery Concepts:
Print Recovery Concepts, Inc. is a leading provider of compatible toner cartridges to business and education, providing related solutions since 15 years. The company realized the potential for soy bean toner in 2006. PRC is pleased to bring this environmentally friendly product to market.

The following poem was written by Sam Goodman over the Summer of 2010, when the BP oil spill was raging in the Gulf of Mexico.

.. a thought provoking ditty for the Gulf of Mexico ..

52 BP oil spill days and it’s still on.
How many years will it be ’till this mess is gone?
Barrels by the millions leaked into the sea.
Wouldn’t now be a good time for Clean Energy?

Day 53 and the Gulf’s oily sheen,
Makes me work to make more energy clean.

day fifty-four
and what is more
that oil spill hasn’t stopped
since that deep pipe first popped.

day fifty-five and the spill’s alive,
don’t worry, mother nature will survive.
it’s just the birds and sea life that may not thrive,
and whoever cared about them?
aren’t they just eye candy for people who dive?

Day fifty-six of the bp oil spill fix,
Obama visited the Gulf again and played political pick-up sticks.
He made the company promise to suck-up more oil,
Now watch the CEOs blood pressure boil.

Fifty Seven days of the Gulf oill spill mess.
it’s BP’s, not Murphy’s or Exxon’s or Hess.
Don’t worry, the suits say, it’s under control,
besides, costly cleanups are part of our role.

Day fifty-eight, BP’s Gulf of Mexico oil spill,
Last night Obama Addressed it, but it’s leakin’ still,
He promised we’ll soon be using clean energy,
Do you believe him now? He said it on TV.

Day fifty-nine and the oil’s spillin’ fine,
The BP Chairman cares for ‘the small people’, ain’t that Divine?
Obama’s gone Beyond Politics and strong-armed $20 Billion from BP,
Can’t you see the silver lining dancing around like the kids on Glee?

Sixty days of the BP gulf oil spill.
Yesterday wayward Hayward gave the hill a thrill.
“I’m afraid”, “i can’t answer that”, “i don’t know”, “i can’t say”,
and for all the political theatre, the crude poisons still kill today.

The BP oil spill’s in Day Sixty One.
Tony Hayward’s not having fun.
He got canned last night for failing
to cap all that oil that’s leaking.

Day Sixty Two of the BP oil spill.
Hawyard is making big gaffes still.
This time yesterday he was relaxing on a yacht.
Apparently his life back, he got.

As they spill oil in the water,
They’ll put more rigs on the water
We’ll be at shore and cleaning ‘em
We’ll fill our tanks with salt-free oil now

Day Sixty-Three and the oil out at sea,
Is coming to shore and it’s yours all for free,
Now if only you could separate all the fuel,
From the BP oil spill with which nature must duel.

Day Sixty Four, the well is spilling ore.
They said that it was less, and now they say it’s more.
If they don’t contain it soon, it will spill well past June,
And likely we will see, more BP oil at sea.

The oil spill flowed on Day Sixty Five,
The mess is huge, and less is alive.
Avoid swimming in the Gulf of Mexico,
Unless you like collecting tarballs as you go.

What’s all the fuss on Day Sixty Six?
The tar’s in the Gulf and it’s stickin’ to sticks.
If only that was all it was,
it might not kill birds and fish.

Spare a thought for the oily Hell of Day Sixty Seven.
It’s worse than they first admitted, it’s certainly no Heaven.
Unless of course you liked the oil-drenched chick from Spinal Tap,
in which case this is your Amp that goes up to Eleven.

Day Sixty Eight, ain’t life great?
So much for A-bomb fears, this cleanup will take years.
And believe it or not, many people have seen
problems much slicker than this one has been.

Day Sixty Nine,
was anything but fine.
The sheen on the water,
BP’s oil floats and shines.

Day Seventy and the slick is growing moment by moment.
Every day brings a whole new mega disaster.
It just goes to show you even the crude can be potent.
It’s time to channel Clean Energy, as would a good master.

Day Seventy-One,
BP’s cleanup isn’t fun,
The oil keeps leaking, and relief work’s stopping,
’till Alex the Hurricane unblocks the Sun.

The BP oil spill’s in Day Seventy-Two,
The Petroleum people say “This Leak’s For You!”
Don’t cry over spilled oil,
It’ll just make your blood boil.

Day Seventy-Three!
Is it time to jump with Glee?
They say they’re letting in foreign super-skimmers, to clean up BP’s oil now.
Maybe one, two or even more than three! Oh Alex, you Hurricane, don’t have a cow!

Day Seventy-Four,
BP is spilling ore,
They say they’re doing all they can to stop it,
While it just spills out more and more.

The BP oil spill is in Day Seventy-Five.
The gulf is filthy, though it’s alive.
The fish and birds are hoping that
a bad Summer won’t trim their fat.

Day Seventy-Six,
The Gulf of Mexico is full of slicks,
Most of them are men in suits,
And this problem they can’t seem to troubleshoot.

Day Seventy-Seven of the Big Petrol Oil spill,
Oh what A Whale of a thrill. The filth is like a homogenizes soup,
Getting filtered by a super skimmer.
Let’s all hope the boat is handled by a super skipper.

The permission slips came rolling in,
And now the super suckers are making the bad oil thinner.
If they keep working through the Winter,
The Gulf coast life will be the winner.

The oil’s been flowing for Seventy Nine days.
BP meanwhile says it’ll be some more months,
’till the leak is capped and they fix their ways.
Aren’t you glad the suits are taking no lumps?

Eighty Days of free oil spillin’,
Weighty ways of crude waves chillin’
the birds’ feathers and sea life’s killin’
the tourist economy as the Gulf’s fillin’
with BP pollution, ain’t that thrillin’?

Day Eighty One and the oil keep going up.
The mouths in Washington won’t shut up.
They say they’re doing all they can to help.
So why did they delay every step along the way?

The oil still spilled on Day Eighty-Two.
The poisons and costs are coming after you.
There’s really not too much to say.
There’s not much else that you can do.

Slick as Glee on Day Eighty-Three.
If it’s bad for you, is it good for BP?
Why can’t I see what I used to see?
The Gulf of Mexico is an oily sea.

Day Eighty-Four and BP’s oil flowed.
No time to waste, no folks to goad.
The zoots in suits are ready to explode.
Better get yer spillin’ cap on, ya toad.

Day Eighty-Five and the spill’s alive.
That’s not saying much if you’re sea life.
Sure, dolphins and pelicans in crude oil don’t thrive.
Just say Thank You they didn’t drown your wife.

Day Eighty-Six and the oil spill’s tricks,
keep rising up to surface and cover all the sticks.
You wonder and you hope that the end is getting nearer.
Just don’t hope that the capping of the well will be a fix.

On the Eighty-Seventh Day,
BP said All is OK.
They capped the leak and are now cleaning.
What lessons learned? What insight’s gleaning?

Day Eighty-eight, ain’t life great?
They say the oil’s making no escape.
BP’s monitoring and testing.
The folks are hoping and watching,
And now the good people in the Gulf,
Are dealing with the aftermath of April’s blast

Day Eighty-Nine and the Gulf is doing better.
Now the wildlife and people are sending BP a letter.
They are demanding to know when they’ll be eased of pain.
And how will they ever get rich off of oil again?

On November 2, 2010, California voters voted to protect the state’s booming clean energy economy, defeating Proposition 23 and saying no to dirty oil from Texas.

Historically, Proposition 23 was the largest public referendum to date on climate and clean energy policy. In play with almost 10 million voters, its rejection marks a decisive victory for California’s clean energy future.

Poster against the Koch Brothers Prop 23

Over 61 percent voted against Proposition 23, meaning the measure was rejected by almost a two to one margin.

A broad bipartisan coalition of consumers, business, labor unions, public health and environmental advocates, Latino organizations, the NAACP, community groups, utilities, and even some oil companies – fought Proposition 23 together.

Representing a new united face of the environmental movement, this coalition promises a clean energy future for California.

1 Switch to compact fluorescent lamps
2. Unplug those unused appliances
3. Skip the supersized appliances, buy what you need
4. WALK, don’t drive
5. Turn the computer off at night

1. Compact fluorescent lamps have never been cheaper and easier to get. They cost more than the old light bulbs, but can save you $30 (in the US, for example) in electricity costs over the lamps life time. The average life span of compact flourescent lamps is 8 to 15 times that of incandescants! Lighting counts for about 9% of household electricity usage in the US.

Start by buying a few to get used to the difference in the light (it’s white and not yellow). After a few days, you’ll probably end up prefering your new lights! You’ll definitely see a difference in your electric bill.

CFL on leaves

2. Have a stereo with fancy disco lights that you only use twice a week? Go unplugged! Same goes for the dvd, microwave and anything else in the house that uses lights while you’re away all day. Also, consider not putting compact flourescent lamps in every fixture. Homes often come with more than you need. Let there be light, but let there not be too much light! Even if you find one fixture that you realize you don’t need, you’re saving energy!

3. A bigger microwave takes more energy to heat last night’s pizza. A bigger refrigerator requires more energy to cool your food. If you don’t need an oversized microwave and fridge, consider buying a small one. You’ll save twice – once when you buy it and again every month on your electric bill. Most of us don’t do major chef cooking on a microwave (who does?!) – the smallest model is the way to go. Those oversized refrigerators will encourage you to buy industrial sized food and you’ll end up with a supersized stomach! A smaller model will gently push you to go shopping twice a week instead of once a month. You’ll save energy and be healthier.

4. Walk to the store, to work and to your friends! If you live in a smart community, then most of your daily needs should be within a 15 minute walk from home. Make use of it! The best way to get back at those evil oil exporting countries is to leave the tin box at home. Plan your week so you need the car less. If you just bought that smaller fridge and you’re going to the supermarket twice a week instead of once a month, take a small backpack and go for a walk. Save energy and burn the best kind of energy – calories!

5. Turn the computer off at night. You’re downloading some amazing filesharing stuff and you want to finish. But consider this – you could be spending that same electricity bill money on buying the cd’s and dvd’s that you’re downloading! Turning the computer off for 7-10 hours a day will make a big difference. If you’re going to be out of the house for over an hour, turn off the computer and save energy!

While we’re talking about night time, make a plan for night lights. Go through your house and decide which light you *really* need on at night. There’s usually no reason for more than one – the one between your room and the bathroom. The energy you can save during the time you’re asleep in your bedroom will add up to a lot – it’s 6-8 hours a night of less energy. If you do need one light on, make it a compact flourescent lamp that has a small wattage. Saving at night will give you more money to spend in the day!

Saving energy is the way to go. If we all do our part and lower our energy bills, we can make a big difference. Take a tour of your home – look around and see what *you* can do! Clean energy can be fun if you keep a positive attitude – see these tips as a fun project that will add extra cash to your wallet.

We wish you a lower electric bill!!
